Now in its 5th generation, the latest A4 is certainly an evolutionary car rather than a revolutionary one, but then that's long been Audi's way and it's certainly served the firm well in recent times. Milltek's latest exhaust offering for the B9 generation can be specified in either resonated, non-resonated or road and part resonated configurations, and all 3 variants can then be further personalised via the addition of either dual Burnt Titanium, Cerakote Black, Polished or Titanium trims.
The Milltek Sport range opens with a quartet of non-resonated cat-back options. While still completely legal to use on the UK's road network, non-resonated systems will be significantly louder than those mentioned below, able to emit a suitably aggressive exhaust note. All four options consist of a front connecting pipe, front and centre silencer bypass, Y-pipe assembly, left and right rear silencers and mounting brackets, and a choice of twin tail pipe options; Burnt Titanium, Cerakote Black, Polished or Titanium.
Those A4 owners seeking a quieter, less raucous exhaust note would be well advised to consider Milltek Sport's other cat-back options, all of which are resonated. Again, the 4 options consist of beautifully designed and manufactured exhaust components, namely a front connecting pipe, front and centre silencer assembly, Y-pipe assembly, left and right rear silencers and mounting brackets. The same quartet of tail pipe finishes can be applied to the resonated systems, all of which will look suitably at home peeking out from the rear valance of the A4 B9 Quattro.
The third and final option available from Milltek is very much a compromise between the non-resonated and resonated configurations covered above, a road and part resonated arrangement that promises to strike the ideal balance between aggression and everyday usability. A4s with this option will be perfectly suited to more prosaic driving tasks like commuting and shopping, yet will come alive and sound suitably brutal when driven in a brisk, spirited manner. All 4 comprise a front connecting pipe, front silencer bypass, centre silencer assembly, Y-pipe assembly, left and right rear silencers and mounting brackets, plus the now familiar quartet of trim options.
Obviously the A4 B9 Quattro is a highly desirable, wonderfully designed and manufactured car, one that demands that any aftermarket product bolted to it be at least as well engineered as the OE equivalent, and the Milltek Sport cat-back exhaust more than delivers in this respect. Not only is it made from high grade steel and to exhaustive standards, the Milltek silencer delete system has been proven to offer subtle increases in both power and torque, plus a soundtrack that really does need to be witnessed to be fully appreciated!
Milltek Sport's latest cat-back exhaust system is the result of an involved research and development process, one that's resulted in one of the most complete offerings currently available for the 2.0 TFSI Quattro, and one which promises to be a key component within the already impressively large B9 tuning scene. It offers demonstrable gains in performance, a suitably evocative, aggressive exhaust note, and is backed up by Milltek's legendary attention to detail and commitment to design excellence.
