As part of Milltek Sport's continual development product programme the latest vehicle to leave the Derbyshire firm's development centre is the new and long awaiting Audi RS4 B8 4.2l V8.

As one of the fastest load-luggers in the business, Milltek’s engineers were keen to maintain the all-round character and usability of the RS4, whilst injecting a little more drama – and power – into proceedings as they had previously done successfully with their range for the previous RS4 B7 range.

Three primary cat back systems will be made available upon launch, starting with fully EC approved system for those looking to keep things ‘OEM+’, secondly a more 'fast road' focused system with a revised centre silencer to produce a fuller sound, and finally a non-resonated system for those looking to extract all of the sounds of the 4.2l V8 power plant. All three systems are designed to provide a perfectly pitched rasp and growl, but without the in-cabin resonance and droning of lesser systems.

By adding a RS4 B8 to it's own development fleet has allowed Milltek to complete extensive dyno and road testing of this new range, resulting in the optimised system featuring dual 2.37” / 60.3mm pipe work to ensure the perfect compromise between maximum gas-flow and ideal back pressure. The system also utilises Milltek’s latest ‘ValveSonic’ technology, featuring active valves that work seamlessly with the OEM vacuum system and with the Audi Drive Select system. All very clever stuff, but with everything happening automatically, all the driver has to do is sit back and enjoy the sound!

Milltek’s design team saw fit to have the system terminating into the RS4’s existing shapely trims, which are fully integrated into the rear bumper – giving the whole upgrade an ‘option pack’ look and feel.
